Painting from Photographic Imagery

Painting from Photographic Imagery

For many years we have lived our lives surrounded by photographic imagery. Since the advent of digital photography our relationship with the photo has changed, now with infinite possibilities for manipulation, photography seems seamlessly to have moved into the malleable imaginative territory of painting. This course explores how students can use digital photographs and technology to create dynamic and ambitious paintings. There will also be daily slideshows and discussions exploring historical and contemporary approaches to the use of lens-based technology in painting. A three day practical workshop.
