My work gives me a valuable space to contemplate and celebrate what I see and feel. My children have become my most wonderful distraction and focus. Whatever they are absorbed in I am able to shar e it and celebrate it through making paintings and drawings about them and their activities. My book 'Drawing and Painting People - a Fresh Approach' published in 2009 has now been re-printed and has received outstanding reviews not least from Matthew Collings, ar tist, writer, broadcaster and critic.

I am in love with painting again, and celebrate it with an ongoing colourful exploration of my life and my surroundings. No longer restricted by working with what is immediately in front of me, I dr aw from a variety of sources, including memory, and photographs, often returning to Still Life and interiors. As always, there is an autobiographical element in my work, whether it is the object, the sense of place, or the self portrait that tells the story.[ View website ]

I am a painter, printmaker and writer. I also make 3D constructions and artists books. My work is figurative, expressive and, amongst other things, I am interested in the powerful combination of both life’s beauty and its tragedy and am wholly accepting of it.[ View website ]

I am interested in how images from everyday life can be turned into paintings. My subjects include dogs, trucks, motorways, and people; down on the beach, camping, out in the landscape. In the end though, it’s the how and why, rather than the what, that’s important.
